Kasautii Zindagii Kay Star Erica Fernandes Is Not Ready To Resume Shooting Amid The Pandemic For These Reasons

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, a nationwide lockdown was declared in the month of March to help stop the spread of the virus. As a result, shoots of many upcoming films and TV show episodes was postponed indefinitely. Now after almost 2 long months, some areas are slowly unlocking and many relaxations have been granted to make daily life easier. By next week or by 20^th of June, shooting of various projects will also resume, as long as safety measures are being taken. However, Kasautii Zindagii Kay star Erica Fernandes is not up for it as of now.

Speaking to Pinkvilla about the same, Erica aka Prerna Basu stated that it’s not a simple question of yes or no as there are many factors to keep in mind. However, she went on to add, “But, if you personally ask me, I am not up for it, not now at least, maybe a little later yes, and this is due to multiple reasons.” Explaining her reasons, Erica shared that we are just beginning to get out of the lockdown and there are still chances that the number of cases might increase.

The actress also shared, “Secondly, because we are entering the monsoon season where so many of us generally fall ill due to the change in weather. The symptoms of normal flu or dengue, malaria (which are common during the monsoons) are very similar to the virus. This will create chaos and panic.” Erica added, “Thirdly, actors even if they want to, have to shoot without a mask. So they are at a higher risk at work, more than anyone else. Next, in there are studios that have multiple shows shooting in the same vicinity at the same time accounting for a huge number of people working together.”

Erica’s points are definitely valid, but as she said herself-- there are people who do not have the luxury to choose not to work. Hopefully things will work out soon. In the meantime, do you agree with the actress’ opinion?
