Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2: Rupal Patel To Return As Kokilaben; Says ‘There Cannot Be Season 2 Without Its Koki’

One of the most popular shows on Indian television, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya came back to the limelight recently after music producer Yashraj Mukhate made up a rap video using Kokilaben aka Rupal Patel’s ‘Rasode me kaun tha’ dialogue. The video went viral and soon makers decided to give fans a pleasant surprise. They announced season two of the show and released a fresh promo featuring Gopi Bahu aka Devoleena Bhattacharjee. While we were glad to see Devo shine on-screen, we eagerly waited for news about the star-- Kokilaben!

Buzz earlier suggested that Rupal will not be a part of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 and this broke many hearts. However, the actress has now confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that she will reprise the character of Kokila Modi and stated, “There cannot be SNS 2 without its Koki.” Rupal, who is currently portraying the role of Meenakshi Rajvansh in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, further shared that she couldn’t sleep the night she was approached for SNS 2 as she prefers doing one show at a time.

However the channel, creative director Rashmi Sharma and producer Rajan Shahi assured the actress that they will together figure out a way to ensure everything proceeds smoothly. All in all, we are glad Rupal said yes! Signing off with Kokilaben’s solid attitude, the actress stated, “Krishna Bhagwan ki saugandh, if season 2 is not a superhit, mera naam bhi Kokila Modi nahin.”
