Abhishek Bachchan Felt He Had Finally Arrived After The Success Of Dhoom, Reveals How Seeing His Father Humbled Him

Abhishek Bachchan’s two decades in Bollywood have been full of ups and downs. The actor throughout his career has given really memorable performances but nothing has earned him success quite like the Dhoom franchise.

When the first Dhoom movie arrived not just the audience but Abhishek himself was also pretty impressed with how the film performed at the box office. Reliving his journey in Bollywood during a recent visit to The Kapil Sharma Show, Abhishek recalls how after the success of Dhoom he finally felt he had arrived, but the feeling alas did not last long.

Abhishek was on The Kapil Sharma Show to promote his upcoming film The Big Bull with Ajay Devgn who has produced it. On the show he revealed how before Dhoom he did not really get much praise for his performances but after this one released he felt had become a ‘star’.

The actor was also humble enough to admit that the feeling washed down quickly after he faced his father, Amitabh Bachchan, at the door of his house when he returned after attending the success bash of Dhoom.

On the show, Abhishek says, "I signed autographs and met people who congratulated me for my role in the film. I was in my own world when I reached home and rang the doorbell and my father opened the door. At that moment, seeing my father in front of me, all the pride came crashing down and I realised, looking at him, that I have to work hard still. I have achieved nothing."

Abhishek starrer Dhoom had released in 2004 and after the success of the first film become one of the biggest movie franchises in the country. Outside the franchise Abhishek stuck to giving memorable performances with films like Yuva, Guru, Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Dostana, Paa, Delhi 6 and many more.
