    Ekta Kapoor and Smriti Irani go back years to the Lyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bhau Thi Days and ever since the super hit TV drama have been the thickest of friends. Today, Smriti Irani who became a household name as Tulsi Virani is a Cabinet Minister and Ekta is one of the biggest producers in the industry but their bond is still as thick as ever.

    In a long appreciation post for her dear friend Smriti, Ekta spoke of how Smriti who failed to win the Miss India contest won over one and all at Balaji with her smile. To top it all she shared a major throwback to Smriti’s modeling days where as 21-year-old  literature student she spoke of her interest in politics and today has found her way to be the Union Minister of Textiles.

    Smriti was a part of the Miss India contest back in 1998 alongside her Kyunki co-star Gauri Pradhan but failed to make it to the top 9. She then went on to act in a few music video till she finally made her acting debut in 2000.

    Ekta in her post also revealed how despite her commendable journey Smriti hasn’t forgotten her colleagues and recently when she was reached out by another actor for help she never failed to help that person.
