Humari Bahu Silk Actor Zaan Khan Protests Outside Producer's House After The Cast Remains Unpaid For A Year

The lockdown has not been easy on the entertainment industry as several TV actors struggle to meet ends both because their shows were put on halt and also because of the long delays in receiving payments. Humari Bhau Silk actor Zaan Khan has now resorted to protesting out the house of the show’s producer as the unit still remains unpaid.

The actor was clicked along with other members of show’s cast holding banners that read ‘pay our dues’, ‘pay Humari Bahu Silk unit’. The protest came after the cast waited for a year to be paid and was backed by the channel in demand for their payment.

Actress Chahat Pandey who a few months back hit headlines for trying to end her life to to the stuck payments, spoke about Zaan’s move to stand outside the producer’s house and told Times of India, "Zaan has no option left now but to do something to get us the money. If I was in Mumbai, I would have been there with him. The protest is justified. All our pleas have fallen on deaf ears."

She also mentioned how the producer after learning about the protest switched off her phone. “We managed to locate Devyani's (Rale) building with immense difficulty. Learning that we are below her building, she has switched off her phone. Now, Zaan and Rahul (the show's director) have gone inside the building to talk to the Secretary."
