Indian Idol 12 winner to be announced next month, grand finale date for the show set: Reports

The longest-running season of Indian Idol and perhaps also the most controversial is finally ready to wrap up. Indian Idol 12 will soon announce the season winner as the grand finale date has been set. The show endured the tumultuous second wave of Covid-19 and many controversies and still continues to run for over 7 months now.

For a long time, the singing reality show had no eliminations and also saw the judges change several times but finally, the order has been restored. Indian Idol 12 is now eliminating contestants every week and now only the top 7 remain. Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Shanmukha Priya, Nihal Tauro, Mohammed Danish, Ashish Kulkarni, and Sayli Kamble are still in the race for the trophy.

According to several reports, the makers of the show have finally set August 15, which is Independence Day, as the date of the Indian Idol 12 finale.

The show has been under a lot of criticism lately for cooking up love stories between contestants, having external judges heaps praises on contestants and for serving TRPs instead nurturing talent. Aditya Narayan the host of the show, various contestants and judges have time and again jumped to the show’s defense but the controversies seem to continue.
