    Kapil Sharma took his show off air due to a spinal injury, was bedridden: 'You feel irritated, you start feeling helpless'

    Kapil Sharma opened up about his spine injury which had him bedridden and even led to his show going off-air earlier this year. The comedian was spotted wheelchair-bound at the Mumbai airport in February this year and made his fans concerned about his health. Kapil had later revealed he had injured his back in the gym and now has opened up about his treatment in a video shot for the clinic where he availed treatment at.

    The comedian suffers from a condition called sciatica where there’s a pain in the sciatic nerve which runs along both legs from the lower back. Talking about the first time he suffered pain due to the condition Kapil says, “I first suffered pain in 2015 and didn’t have knowledge about this. I was in the US at the time. A doctor gave me an epidural and I got relief from pain, but the problem stayed there.”

    Talking about the relapse of his pain In January Kapil further said, “I had so many plans but I had to stop everything. I had to take my show off-air because of the injury. This pain leads to a change in your behaviour, you feel irritated, you start feeling helpless because you can’t get up from bed. And then people start telling you that you will gain weight by lying down all the time. You should start liquid diet. A person is already in pain and someone gives you a salad to eat, your pain is doubled. I have suffered a lot.” 

    Kapil who became a father for a second time this year only managed to resume work in August after the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
