Karan Wahi Receives Death Threats For Jokingly Taking A Dig At The Kumbh Mela, Actor Has Cheeky Response For Haters

The raising Covid-19 cases in the country during the second deadly wave of the pandemic remains a concern as India reported over two lakhs cases on Wednesday. As the cases pile on many celebrities have raised concerns over the ongoing election rallies and the Kumbh Mela taking place in Haridwar which are seeing mass gatherings.

Actor Karan Wahi was amongst those who voiced concern over the Kumbh Mela where lakhs of Hindu devotees are gathering every day to take a dip in the holy Ganga. In an Instagram story the actor had jokingly posted, “Isn’t there a Work From Home culture for Naga Babas? Like get water from Ganga and take a shower at home #justcurious #kumbhmela.”

The post, however, apparently irked many people who wrote to Karan threatening him with dire consequences if he did not take down the post.

Sharing screenshots of the many abusive messages he received the actor wrote in another story, “So I have received messages, abusive content, even death threats already. Wow, people of India. If being a Hindu is to turn a blind eye on covid protocols not being followed then a lot of you first need to read what being a Hindu is.”

In another post replying to a user who asked Karan if he has ever read the Bhagavad Gita, he posted a picture of The Bible, Gita and Quran and said he has read all three and also knows how to respect them - “Ye teeno padhhi hain aur teeno ki izzat karni aati hain.”

Karan refused to take down his original post unfazed by the threats and cheekily wrote, “Ufff kash itna traction tum log meri pictures ko bhi dete…”
