Mohit Malik Confirms His Exit From Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, Didn't Want To Play A Father To Grown Up Women Post Leap

TV actor Mohit Malik who has earned quite a name for himself playing Sikander Singh Gill on the popular show Kulfi Kumar Bajewala for the past two years has confirmed he will exit the show soon. The news may come as a big jolt for the followers of the show where Mohit plays the father of two young girls. There has been a lot of speculation about him quitting the Gul Khan show of late and finally Mohit has opened up why he will not be able to continue.

Kulfi Kumar Bajewala is all set to a take a leap of several years and in the current track, Mohit’s character was shown suffering from brain tumor. The actor will die on the show before the leap where the two young leads are shown as grown ups. Mohit did not want to play a father to two grown up women as it would not look convincing and has decided to end his association with the show. Talking to Bombay Times the actor said, "I was fine with playing father to two small girls in the show. But I do not want to play a father to grown-up girls because I don’t think it will look convincing."

The show has been a big success with an offbeat theme where it explores the relationship between a father and daughter instead of the otherwise popular saas-bahu sagas. Talking about his journey Mohit was proud that the theme for the show did not change. "It has been an emotional journey for me. I started working on the show exactly two years ago and it’s time now to say goodbye. As they say, all good things come to an end. The show explored the father-daughter bond beautifully and I guess the makers felt a leap was necessary. I liked the fact that they focussed on the father-daughter bond and did not try to introduce a romantic angle for my character Sikandar (Mohit Malik) after Nimrat (Shruti Sharma) died in the show. Though he married Loveleen, the show only revolved around Sikandar and his two daughters."

It is now to be seen where the makers take this track now that Skinder will be out of the equation.
