Raghav Juyal issues clarification on being called a racist based for old dance reality show clip mocking North Eastern contestant

Actor and TV host Raghav Juyal has faced severe backlash in these past few days after a clip from the reality show Dance Deewane 3 went viral on social media for allegedly mocking a contestant from the North East. The host has been called a racist for introducing a contestant from Assam speaking in gibberish which is supposed to sound like Chinese with words like ‘mom’ and ‘chowmein’ thrown into the mix.

The old clip has led to Raghav being bashed for his monologue and has been criticized by the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma as well. The TV host was then led to issue a clarification that his monologue was based on an inside joke where the contestant in question had said that she has the talent of speaking in Chinese. He also apologized.

"It's unfair and not good for my mental health to see this short clip without the right context. When this contestant came to the show, she announced that she had a talent of speaking Chinese. My performance was based on that," Raghav says in a video he posted said that his monologue has been taken out of context based on a small clip.

He further reposted a clip from Dance Deewane 3 to reveal that it was based on an ongoing joke which originated based on the contestant calling speaking in Chinese her hobby.
