Ramayan actor Arvind Trivedi, who played Ravan on the show, is no more. The actor passed away on Tuesday night in Mumbai. He was 82.

The news was confirmed by the actor's nephew Kaushtabh Trivedi. Talking to ETimes, he said,"He was not keeping well for quite some time, but today he suffered a heart attack and that led to multi-organ failure.'' The last rites of the actor will take place at Dahanukarwadi crematorium, Kandivali West, in Mumbai today morning.

Filmmaker K Amar who also confirmed the news to ETimes had worked with Trivedi on a film. He said, "He was a very good human being and had a great sense of humour. He acted in Gujarati film 'Maatema Bija Vagdana Vaa', which was probably one of his last films.''

Last year, when COVID had hit and everyone was forced to be locked up inside their house, people found comfort in their families. everyone had the time to spend with each other, and the entire experience was made better as people sat together to watch Dayanand Sagar's Ramayan. There was newfound respect for actors like Sunil Lahiri and Arvind Trivedi. Even Twitter went into a frenzy when Arvind Trivedi joined the social media site. Talking about playing Ravan, Arvind Trivedi said in an earlier interview, "I am a Ram devotee and a Shiva devotee even in real life, so whenever I went on shooting, I would fast for the whole day because I was sad with the script given. According to me, I have to say the opposite words directly to Shri Ram. I would fast for the whole day and worship Ram and Shiva before the shooting started and when the shooting was over, I would change clothes and open my fast at night. That was my routine during the shoot."

May his soul rest in peace and may his family get the strength to deal with the loss.
