Trivia: Did You Know Erica Fernandez Was Miss Maharashtra in 2011 And Had Been Amongst The Top 10 In Miss India That Year?

Erica Fernandez is celebrating her 27^th birthday today. The actress, who has now become a household name as Prerna from Kasautii Zindagi Kay, had tasted success with her first TV serial as the lead Kuch Rishtey Pyaar Ke Aishe Bhi. But did you know that she had been a model before she started out her acting career? In fact, she had been crowned Miss Maharashtra in 2011 and was one of the Top 10 finalists of Miss India that year?

Yes, you read that right. Erica had been studying in Mumbai’s St, Andrews College when she decided to take part in Miss India. She had cleared the primary selections and even went on to be crowned Miss Maharashtra 2011. She was crowned by Aftab Shivdesani and said that she had fulfilled her father’s dream! It was then that she decided to discontinue her studies, dropped out of college and focused on modeling. She then took part in Miss India, as would be natural. She even made it to the Top 10, but could not be a part of the top 3.

She then went on to work in the south film industry and did a few films there. However, she bid goodbye to films when she became the female lead in Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi in 2016 opposite Shaheer Sheikh. We are just very thankful that she chose to give TV industry a try!
