    A. R. Rahman To Perform In The United Nations Organisation

    In a grand career spanning nearly three decades, A. R. Rahman has begot immense pride and dignity, both for himself and the nation. Rahman has won two Oscar, two Grammy awards, one BAFTA and one Golden Globe award for his music compositions. Now, the prodigy is all set to perform in the United Nations Organisation on August 15.

    It is after 50-years that any Indian has attained the majesty to perform in the UN among the representatives of all the member countries. Earlier, proficient singer M. S. Subbulakshmi performed in the UN in October 1966. On August 15, Rahman will be performing there as a part of the celebration for India’s 70th Independence Day.

    It is for the second time in 2016, when India will showcase its aptitude on International podium. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, observed on June 21, notable spiritual leader Sadhguru had led a yoga session which was attended by top UN officials, ambassadors, diplomats and yoga practitioners. Now, it is the turn of the 49-year-old musician to make India proud again.
