    Aadukalam, Dookudu sweep South Filmfare Awards

    The 59th Annual South Filmfare Awards, held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium here yesterday night, has seen most of the big stars from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries walking down the red carpet. In Tamil, Aadukalam was the biggest winner with five awards -- for best actor (Dhanush), best film, best director (Vetri Maaran), best cinematographer (R Velraj), and best music director (GV Prakash), while in Telugu Mahesh Babu's super hit film Dookudu swept the award ceremony. Dookudu won awards for best film, best director (Sreenu Vaitla), best actor (Mahesh Babu), best music director (S S Thaman) and best playback singer male (Rahul Nambiyar), best supporting actor male (M S Narayana). Anjali won best actress award in Tamil for Engayum Eppodum, while Nayantara bagged best actress award in Telugu for Sri Rama Rajyam. The star performers of the event were Tamannaah, Shruti Haasan, Richa Gangopadhyay, Rima Kallingal, Poorna, Priyamani and Sanjjanaa. Shruti Haasan also bagged the award for best debut which was presented to her by her father and megastar Kamal Haasan. In Malayalam Traffic named as best film, Blessy Pranayam named best director, Salim Kumar honoured with best actors award for Adaminte Makan Abu and Kavya Madhavan bagged best actress award for Gaddama.
