Abirami Ramanathan Talks About Small Budget Movies And Existence Of Ghosts

During the music launch event of the horror movie Araam Thinai, the head of Tamil Nadu Cinema Theatre Owner’s Federation Abirami Ramanathan talked about horror movies and small budget movies. Regarding the topic of existence of ghosts, he said, “If you ask me if spirits exist, I would say ‘yes’.

He further said, “Whether it is supernatural or ghosts, it is human tendency to see something, which he actually cannot. That’s the reason why there’s so much rush for Nayanthara’s horror film”. Regarding the issue of small budget movies where Ponraj said that small films lose business because of greedy theatre owners. The producer said, “I distributed 50 films in the last one year and out of which 45 films were small budget movies”.

“Even though Vijay is a big star now, when he came to the industry, his films were small. Had theatre owners and exhibitors rejected his films saying they were small budget ones, would Vijay have grown so big? So, the problem is not with us. People are not coming to theaters to watch small budget films with the exception of few like Aruvi. We don’t know why”.
