Ajith’s ‘Vedalam’ Surpasses ‘Kaththi’

The much awaited film of Ajith ‘Vedalam’ hit the theatre screens on November 10. The film features Thala in dual role, one of a cab driver and one of a gangster. The film has got off to a great start and is doing a great business at box office.

According to reports, the film Siva directorial managed to collect Rs. 12-14 crore on its opening day. The exact figure is not revealed yet, but it is the highest for an Ajith film. The action entertainer grossed Rs. 14 lakhs on the first day in Ram Muthuram Cinemas, the theatre has till date experienced massive rush for Ilayathalapathy Vijay's films, it has also broken the record of Vijay starrer ‘Kaththi’ of Rs. 13.5 lakhs on Day 1.

Reports suggest that the film has got the tax exemption status in Tamil Nadu. It also had a houseful midnight show yesterday. The film is expected to do more great business in the coming weekend.
