Bigg Boss Tamil: Shakti Evicted And Vaiyapuri Wants To Quit

It’s been seven weeks since Bigg Boss Tamil went on air. The show had a shaky start but thanks to stiff opposition from fringe groups, controversies and Oviya, it slowly gained popularity and its TRP ratings shattered through the roof, becoming the most watched show on television currently. After Oviya’s unfortunate exit and Julie’s eviction last week, the two most popular members of the house, the show lost excitement. This week, actor Shakti, son of well-known southern filmmaker P Vasu, was shown the door as he got lesser votes than Aarav, Bindu Madhavi and Ganesh Venkatraman. On being evicted, Shakti said that he joined the show with the sole purpose of earning popularity and he said he did from this opportunity.

Even though dancer-actor Gayathri Raghuram was in the danger zone, she miraculously escaped after she won a task on Friday. Despite netizens expressing their anguish over Bigg Boss being lenient with Gayathri, she managed to survive another week. She is hated by most on social media for the way she treated Oviya during her stay. Shakti’s elimination definitely came as a surprise as audiences expected Snehan to be kicked out as he requested his fans to not vote for him. He had said that he doesn’t want to stay in the house as he had reached a saturation point. He feared he will turn into someone else if he stays longer.

Actor-comedian Vaiyapuri also requested to be sent home. During last week, he said, “I’ve struggled all my life and became an actor. I don’t understand why I should struggle here again. I don’t want to fight for my place in the house. Please send me home. I can’t take this cruel task anymore.” In a message to his wife, Vaiyapuri said, the show has made him a new person and she will see him as a new husband when he comes home. He also asked Ganesh to not be self-centred. “I think you’re nearly perfect. But you don’t involve yourself when there is a problem. You don’t discuss with other inmates. I feel you should get involved more often and start a conversation. You are lost in your world. Please don’t feel offended. I’m telling you as an elder brother.”

Oviya’s exit can be felt as the show has lost its momentum and craze among fans online. It needs to be seen in the following weeks what will be done as there are rumours that Oviya will brought back into the house as a wildcard entry. Some claim it was a deliberate move to send her out and bring back to win over audiences once again.
