Kannada actor Komal Kumar, who is best known for doing comedy roles, is saying that he wants flavour in his work. The actor has become the first choice of directors and this is the reason that today Komal has eight projects in hand. Komal, who is currently busy withPyarge Aagbittaite, Goa, Pungidasa, Karodpathi, Vasco Da Gama and 3 more projects says that he is happy with the image he is having in the industry, “I cannot imagine being anything else. I work on bringing in humour through words, situations and reactions. I am catering to both the class and the mass audiences with my films.”

The actor also mentioned that people's reactions bothered him most while shifting fromhero's sidekick to hero itself, “There was a time when people would encourage me to move ahead in my career. Now, the same people tell me, 'We didn't expect you to make it so big.' In Gandhinagar (the hub of the Kannada film industry), we often see so many good-looking guys with a six-pack et al, hoping to make it in the film industry. Those who are already in the industry also can't imagine why and how a person like me has managed to be successful.” But Komal says he made space for himself and that space made him stand in the industry till date.

When asked if he is same onscreen and off-screen, Komal responded, “I am the total opposite of what you see of me onscreen. In reality, I am an introvert. I still have a lot of inhibitions and I work on them constantly. I am most comfortable when I am by myself.” The actor, who got his first film in his college days as a hero says that being a brother of actorJaggesh has created a path for him but it wasvery difficult to walk on that path. Komal commented further, “I am comfortable with what I am doing. I feel I understand what the audience wants of me. I am not a comedian anymore. Today, I am an entertainer - who can make people experience a variety of emotions.”
