The ‘Lingaa’ controversy is finally coming to an end. A final decision has been taken to sort out the matter of repaying losses that were suffered by the distributors and theatre owners for screening Superstar Rajinikanth starrer ‘Lingaa’. As per the sources, a meeting was recently held in which an amicable solution has been evolved.

The long drawn battle over the repayment of losses has now come to an end. A prominent distributor Tiruppur Subramanian has reportedly volunteered to pay the remaining amount of Rs.1.5 crores to the distributors and theatre owners. With Subramanian paying the rest of the amount as a token of gratitude to the Superstar, all the controversies surrounding ‘Lingaa’ have supposedly come to an end.

According to the information from a source, “The total amount payable as compensation to distributors and theatre owners who had screened ‘Lingaa’ was Rs.12 crores. The superstar accepted to share the 50% of the total amount that is Rs. 6 crores. The film’s producer Rockline Venkatesh had to take care of the remaining amount but he could give only Rs.4.5 crores and this was the issue that stalled the settlement to distributors and theatre owners”.
