Hansika Motwani To Become The On-Screen 'Sangamithra'?

Director Sundar C’s ‘Sangamithra’ made jaws drop pertaining to its expansive budget and casting. Actress Shruti Haasan was the makers’ first choice for the titular role. She even took sword-training lessons in London for the same. However, the makers are now recasting their lead actress.

The movie's production house, Sri Thenandal Films, recently posted on social media that the makers had to stop shooting with Shruti for unmentioned reasons. His post read, “Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to proceed working with Shruti Haasan in Sangamithra”. Speculations are rife that the makers are now considering Hansika Motwani for the role. A source said, “She has been approached for the project, but nothing is concrete now”. According to rumours, the makers also have Nayanthara and Anushka Shetty in mind but Hansika makes the front-runner.

The launch of big budgeted movie was announced at Cannes 2017. The film sets itself in the 8^th century AD and is an unfeigned story of how Sangamithra rescues her kingdom. The movie has Arya and Jayam Ravi playing the role of warriors.
