Jayendra Initiate To Encourage Young Talents

Veteran ad-maker Jayendra has been off from industry for a while, but he holds a strong understanding of its day-to-day happenings. His last flick, 180, came in year 2011, but Jayendra is back and is working on a script. It is believed that the project will go on the floors from this May.

The ace director, who has successfully produced and directed over 600 advertisements, is a bit concerned for talents, who do not get enough opportunities in the industry. “There are a lot of aspiring filmmakers out there. Though they are talented, they might not get an opportunity to showcase the same.  There is no organised way of showcasing young filmmakers,” Jayendra said.

For this, Jayendra started his own small initiative, ‘First Clap’. This is a short film contest, where the top five shortlisted films will be selected based on feedback from industry experts and audience voting. Interestingly, the winner of this contest will be given the opportunity to pitch a script to Suriya’s 2D Entertainment. In addition, they will also be getting the chance to work as an intern with the company of a film project as well.
