Having battled and overcome breast cancer herself, the actress is looking forward to another year of cancer awareness. It’s a strong initiative that the actress is taking to motivate people to embrace the reality. In an exclusive interview with Deccan Chronicle, Gautami said, “Cancer is a reality and one has to stop hiding from it. People have this paralysing fear when they come to know of their diagnosis. We need to help them overcome this and see the disease for what it is.”

While talking about the disease, she further mentioned that the motivation of cancer survivors can shine a ray of hope for those who are in the dark at present. For the diva, the motive behind this walk is to encourage people to come forward and participate in the collective movement of spreading awareness on how to fight cancer.
