Kalaipuli S. Thanu Will Produce Kabali 2?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ was one of the biggest films this year and showed the actor as a Malaysian don. The movie was directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by veteran producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu. Now, reportedly, Thanu will be producing the sequel to ‘Kabali’ as well.

Sources have shared that the producer has registered the title 'Kabali 2'. This clarifies two things, one being the development of a sequel to the Rajinikanth starrer. The other being that this project, and not the Dhanush production project as it was suspected to be, will be the sequel to ‘Kabali’. The Dhanush production project will be a fresh script.

While there have been no official announcements regarding the same, nothing can be said for sure. ‘Kabali’ starred Radhika Apte, Winston Chao, Attakathi Dinesh and Kalaiyarasan Harikrishnan. The movie grossed more than Rs. 650 crore. It also faired quite well in U.S., Malaysia and Japan. It broke several records on its release, some of them being highest net collections on opening day for an Indian film, top earning first weekend, highest-grossing first weekend for an Indian film in overseas markets and others.
