Kamal Haasan All For Jallikattu

Supporting one of the traditional festivals of Tamilian, Jallikattu, veteran actor Kamal Haasan has expressed frustration and disappointment on banning of this event by the apex court. He even questioned that if one is banning Jallikattu, they should ban Biriyani as well. Kamal added that this ‘sport’ should resume in the state as soon as possible.  

“I am a big fan of Jallikattu and steps should be taken to hold the traditional game of the Tamils. Those who hate Jallikattu should also hate biriyani. Will they ban biriyani too in the same way they banned Jallikattu”, Kamal questioned.

He added, “I am probably one of few actors who have played Jallikattu. I am a proud Tamilian, this is our culture. It is about taming the bull and not causing them physical harm by breaking its horns or other parts”. Earlier, the Supreme Court banned the age-old event on the grounds of cruelty to animals.
