Kamal Haasan Stays Mum On ‘Kaala’ Release In Karnataka

Kamal Haasan Stays Mum On ‘Kaala’ Release In Karnataka

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has recently met Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to initiate a talk between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over the sensitive Cauvery water sharing issue. Haasan is trying to bridge the gap between two states which can be seen as a positive approach. But the ‘Vishwaroopam’ star has been criticised on social media after he refused to comment on the ban imposed on ‘Kaala’ in Karnataka.

The actor was asked if he’d discussed anything about the ‘Kaala’ release while Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and he addressed the media. To the question, Haasan justified that the pretext of the meeting was regarding the Cauvery issue and stated that the issues between the states have to be dealt on the basis of dialogues. Kamal Haasan also said that the Cauvery issue is far more important than films.

He was even ridiculed for failing to back ‘Kaala’ when Rajinikanth supported the former during ‘Vishwaroopam’ row in 2013. It seems that both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have come under the radar in Karnataka following their comments on Cauvery issue. On the work front, Kamal Haasan’s upcoming ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ is expected to release in August this year.
