    Kamal Haasan Shares His Experience Of Shooting In Front Of Queen Elizabeth II

    Kamal Haasan recalled the first day shoot of 'Marudhanayagam' during his interview to the Tamil section of a London based media house. He shared his memories and his experience of shooting a scene of the flick in front of the British Queen Elizabeth II. The reigning Queen came to Chennai in 1997 and visited the sets of the Rs. 200 million film project.

    The Papanasam actor shared his experience of shooting in front of the Queen, who was chief guest of the grand launch function of his film. He said, “We shot the long speech of Marudhanayagam seeking independence for India from the British rule on that day. The translation of that speech was given to the Queen. As a person who has understood the changing times and the progression of mankind, the Queen listened to this patiently with a broad mind".

    Many other VVIP guests like Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, S. Jaipal Reddy and Congress leader Moopanar as well as journalist Cho Ramaswamy were also present at the sets that day. Though the film saw many big names associated to it, but it has been stalled for years due to lack of funds. The film is Kamal Haasan’s dream project and is scripted, produced and directed by him.
