Karuppan Hits The Floor Running

To the much pleasure of Kollywood fans, Vijay Sethupathi starrer Karuppan has hit the floors. The shooting began on January 11 in Theni for which Vijay is set to sport a fresh look. Karuppan is touted to be a rural entertainer and is being directed by Paneerselvam.

Talking about his upcoming flick, producer AM Ratnam said, “We have planned to complete the film in a single stretch of 70 days. Karuppan will be a family entertainer with commercial elements. The film has a huge star cast which includes Bobby Simhaa, Kishore and others.” He sounded excited to be working with Vijay for the first time and said, “Moving away from cliched village roles, Paneerselvam has crafted a different character for Vijay Sethupathi. His career graph has been exceptional and with the right scripts, he has the capability to achieve big things in the industry.”

Ratnam added that the female lead will be announced in day or two by the team. However, there is a buzz that Lakshmi Menon has been finalized already. The actress of Rekka was asked to shed some weight for this flick and get in perfect shape.
