Keerthi: Scary when Nag asked me to portray Savitri

Nag Ashwin directorial ‘Nadigaiyar Thilagam/Mahanati’ is all set for a grand release on May 9. Young actress Keerthy Suresh , who is who is essaying the iconic actress Savitri in the biopic, shared her experience about playing Savitri. Rumours were doing the rounds that the actress put on weight for the film and could not take the kilos off.

“I didn't accept when Nag Ashwin approached me to portray the role of Savitri Amma. I was so scared if I can even think of working in the biopic of an iconic actress since I am just a starter. And I also had apprehensions if a film of that scale can be made at all”, said Keerthy Suresh in an interview with DC.

Moreover, ‘Nadigaiyar Thilagam’ has a talented cast including Dulquer Salmaan , Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Deverakonda , Prakash Raj and Mohan Babu in prominent roles. The movie is produced by Vijayashanthi Movies and the makers are planning for a big audio launch event which will take place in Hyderabad on May 1.
