The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, has sent a letter to Don Sandy who is the director of the upcoming Tamil film ‘Gorilla’. After knowing that a chimpanzee will be used for the shooting of the movie, PETA requested him to use computer-generated imagery (CGI) and not use live animals in his movies.

“Compassionate and, forward-thinking filmmakers would never dream of hauling sensitive wild animals to a chaotic movie set and forcing them to ‘act’ for viewers' amusement," says Sachin Bangera, associate director of celebrity and public relations, PETA India. He added,” PETA India is appealing to Gorilla's director to cut the cruelty and switch to modern and humane CGI and visual-effects technology”.

As per the reports, a chimpanzee named Kong will appear in the upcoming movie. Moreover, the movie produced by Vijayaraghavendra will also feature Jiiva and Shalini Pandey. It is also reported that the producer has explained his side of the story in a letter and said that they have completed the entire shoot of the movie.
