Producers Claim They Owe No Due To Sridevi

Vijay’s last offering ‘Puli’ has garnered lot of attention before and after its release. Just before a day of the release the team of the film was raided by income tax officials. Few days back, Sridevi, who played the role of vicious queen in the film, filed a case against the makers of the film.

The actress alleged producers P.T. Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens of not making complete payment. Reports suggested that she is yet to receive a balance of Rs. 50 lakh from them. The case was referred to Tamil Producers Council for further proceedings. Now, the producers have finally spoken on the incident.

The producers claim that they owe no dues to the yesteryear actress. They said, "We had booked Sridevi in Puli for 3 crores, 2.7 crores as salary and 30 lakhs as service tax. When the film was getting finished, Boney Kapoor asked for extra money if we dub in Hindi and Telugu. He was very insistent and told us that if we don't do this, Sridevi will not come to shooting”. Out of the due amount they paid Rs. 15 lakh and as the film did not perform at the box office they are not able to pay the extra money to the actress.
