Oscar laureate A.R. Rahman is a world known music maestro, but the famous composer is not only into music. The Mozart of Madras has a great appetite for other forms of art as well. Making that point clear, the man flew all the way from Los Angeles, U.S., to watch the 100th show of veteran theatre artist Y.G. Mehandra's 'Paritchaikku Neramachu'.

The show took place in Chennai, where A.R. Rahman spent quality time enjoying the drama. He later also went up to stage and handed out mementos to the performers. Y.G. Mehandra later thanked maestro for his kind gesture as he exclusively came for the event.

Even when A.R. Rahman won Oscar in 2009, he acknowledged the UAA Drama troupe of Y.G family for endorsing the stage drama with its vibrant character. The music director had also previously said he hopes to build an art center in Chennai. He told about his father’s association with the UAA trope as a music director as well.
