    Rajinikanth to be honoured with Indian Film Personality of the Year 2014

    Kollywood megastar Rajinikanth has reportedly been announced as the winner of the centenary award for Indian Film Personality of the Year 2014 by the Union Government of India. The magnanimous star will be receiving the honour during the 45th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which will take place in Goa, and begin from November 20.

    The 10-day event is all set to premiere 179 films across 75 countries which include World Cinema, Masterstrokes, Documentaries, Festival Kaleidoscope, Soul of Asia and Animated Films showcasing 61, 11, 6, 20, 7 and 6 films, respectively. Also, it has been reported that The Indian Panorama section will screen 41 feature and non-feature films. 

    Reports also suggest that the opening ceremony of IFFI will be attended by Amitabh Bachchan and the Kollywood megastar himself. Meanwhile, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of State, Information and Broadcasting, reveals that Rajinikanth will receive the honour and Big B will be the chief guest at the event.
