Rajinikanth Lauds Vijay Starrer Mersal

Vijay starrer Mersal has received good reviews from audience as well as celebrities. And among many celebrities who have praised the film is superstar Rajinikanth. He applauded the crew of the film saying the film has addressed an important issue.

He took to Twitter to appreciate the team for their excellent work. “Important topic addressed..... well done!!! congratulations team #mersal” Rajinikanth said in a brief tweet. Though the movie has been a blockbuster hit, however, it has found itself amidst controversies.  

BJP has claimed that there have been incorrect references over Goods and Services Tax in the film. BJP leaders, including Raja, a national secretary in the party, state president Tamilisai Soundarajan and Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan, have demanded that the ‘incorrect’ references should be deleted from the flick. The BJP on October 20 termed all the dialogues related to GST as untrue and asked the makers to delete them. However, the opposing party, Congress’ vice president Rahul Gandhi, his senior colleague P. Chidambaram, DMK working president M.K. Stalin, veteran star Kamal Haasan and several Tamil cinema industry representatives had supported the film crew on bringing the issue in the movie.

Directed by Atlee, Mersal released on October 18.
