    Rajinikanth Summoned By Madurai Court

Thalaivar may be busy with his upcoming movies, which are ‘Kabali’ and ‘2.0’, but the superstar may have to make some time for a court visit as well. Rajinikanth has been summoned by Madurai Court on Tuesday in relation to plagiarism case associated with his last movie, Lingaa. The movie came in year 2014, where producer Venkatesh was asked to deposit 5 crore and additional bank guarantee of same amount in order to get the film released.

Earlier, filmmaker K.S. Ravirathinam has accused the story of ‘Lingaa’ to have been taken from his film 'Mullaivanam 999'. The maker named Rajinikanth, Ponkumaran, director K.S. Ravikumar and producer Rockline Venkatesh for stealing his story and presenting it to be their own. The script for ‘Lingaa’ was penned by Ponkumaran.

It was observed that Rajinikanth was dragged into this case because of his prominent stature. The case was transferred to the Madurai Court from Madras High Court after the request of the plaintiff, who claims his original story was used by ‘Lingaa’ makers. Rajinikanth’s next movie ‘Kabali’ is expected to hit theatres this May and it will star Radhika Apte in female lead.
