Ramani’s is Next Is A Medical Thriller

Tamil cinema has seen less number of good medical thrillers. Arivazhagan’s Kuttram 23 and Krishna’s Yakkai are the two well-made medical thrillers. And now director Ramani is making a movie of the same genre.

The film titled Owdatham is based on a real-life incident about a doctor suffering from diabetes who was found guilty of engaging in criminal activities while prescribing medicines. Speaking about the movie, Ramani said, “The story is based on my personal experiences. It talks about how greedy men manufacture medicines, which have an ill-effect on people and bring them to market with the help of politicians and officials in an illegal manner. It imparts a larger message. At the same time, the film has enough commercial elements. I did extensive research on the subject.”

The movie has been produced by Red Chillies Black Peppers Cinemas. The flick will have Nethaji and Sameera, a model from Delhi, playing the lead roles. Award-winning composer Tashi has scored the music.
