Sibiraj’s Next Named After Rajinikanth’s Movie Title Again

Actor Sibiraj teamed up with debutant Vinod, a former assistant to VZ Durai, for an upcoming action thriller. The flick will star Nikhila Vimal, whose performance in Sasikumar’s ‘Kidaari’ (2016) was received well by the audience, as the female lead. According to recent reports, the film will be titled ‘Ranga’. It might interest you to know that superstar Rajinikanth starred in a movie with the same name back in 1982.

Moreover, we saw Sibiraj playing the antagonist in ‘Pokkiri Raja’ (2016) and Rajinikanth’s list of movies also include one with the same title, which also released in 1982. Born in the same year, little might have Sibiraj thought he would get to work in flicks with such big titles. As far as the upcoming Ranga’s shooting progress is concerned, the unit has just returned from Kashmir after a rigorous shooting schedule of 20 days.

“Lord Ranganathan is known as the protecting god. In the film, the hero will protect and help the heroine to come out of a major problem. So, we have kept the title as Ranga”, producer Vijay K Chellaiah stated, adding, “However, I took the blessings of the original producer who made Ranga earlier with Rajini sir”.

Vijay also revealed that Kashmir was chosen for shoot as the script required the male lead to travel to the valley for some purpose. He also divulged that the movie was shot at the India- Pakistan border and places like Gulmarg.
