SK Madhi Talks About His Directorial Debut Koottali

Koottali is an upcoming film which is based around north Chennai and focuses on the less seen side of the city. Directed by debutant SK Madhi, the movie has an ensemble cast with actors including Kausalya, Aruldoss, Appukutty and others. The director recently shared his insight on the project and said that it show cases a profession that every body knows about but don’t talk about.

“Even though there are many films based out of the area, I’m touching upon a profession that everyone knows of, but hasn’t explored. The plot of the film is inspired by the people I have personally seen and interacted with”, Madhi shared. When asked how he was able to assemble the cast, the director said that all of them liked the script and have done a great job in their individual roles.

Koottali has been completely shot in and around Chennai and because of the recent stretch of events like demonetization, Vardah, the CM’s death and the political issues that followed, the project had to face a lot of problems. The film is currently in the post-production stage and will be released in the next two months.
