Soundarya R. Ashwin lands in controversy over comment about Simbu’s singing

Kochadaiiyaan maker Soundarya R. Ashwin made a good-humoured comment about her “childhood friend” Simbu on a TV show without having any idea that it would lead to a controversy and also cause anger among the Vaanam actor’s die-hard fans. Jokingly the director urged Simbu to stop singing during a rapid fire round on the show which has offended the latter’s fans to a large extent.

Fans drew a conclusion that this is a revengeful comment as Simbu didn’t talk in favour of Kochadaiiyaan regarding the quality of its animation. They also took their protests to social networking platforms sharing abusive posts. Right that moment Simbu came forward as Ashwin’s saviour so that the situation wouldn’t go out of control. The actor posted on his Twitter page, "Everyone has their rite to comment about anyone... request fans to stop this abusive approach... Pls treat others the same way u treat me.” He also added, "I can c the love u guys have for me and I respect that and I request u to show the same love towards others as well ... Thank u.” Soundarya also clarified her stand reinstating that Simbu is one of her closest childhood friends, adding, "whatever I said was for fun and there are no hard feelings between us.”
