Director Suraj Apologises For His Sexist Comment After Tamannaah, Nayanthara Lashes Out

Erupting massive controversy with his recent sexist comment, director Suraj has rushed to apologize. He has directed Kathi Sandai, starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Vishal in lead. In a statement, Suraj had said that he asked his designer to cut out an inch from the outfits of his actress.

On getting to know about the recent furore, Tamannaah tweeted, "This is 2016 and it is very ironic that I had to leave a film like Dangal in the middle which is on woman empowerment and to tackle this issue. I am very hurt and angered by the comments made by my director Suraj and I would definitely want him to apologise, not only to me but to all women in the industry."

Interestingly, it was Nayanthara who first put her thoughts on the issue and said, "A heroine wears skimpy clothes in commercial cinema only if she is comfortable and the script requires it. And which audience is he speaking about who pay money to see heroine in bad light? Our audiences who look up to film stars are far more mature and respects women more than Suraj does. No one has the right to think that heroines can be taken for granted."

Even her co star Vishal came in support of Tamannaah and called it ‘totally unnecessary statement by Dir Suraj’. Soon Kathi Sandai maker came forward and apologize in series of tweets, one of them read, @tamannaahspeaks sorry for Wat u bin thru Coz of this.unwanted." The flick released on December 23, and is getting mixed response from audiences.
