Previously working in movies such as Thozha, Dharma Durai, Baahubali and the most recent being, Devi, the actress said, "I want to play a character that is empowered. In Devi, my role was challenging. In Baahubali, I play Avantika, a bold and focused girl. In fact, she is the one who takes the story forward. I want to do roles that will add value to the script and will be noteworthy”.

Tamannaah clarified that she will continue to work in commercial cinema. She is currently working on Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan with Silambarasan in the lead.
