    Vijay’s ‘Theri’ released worldwide yesterday and is creating records at the box office. It was one of the actor’s much awaited film and many multiplexes screened numerous shows of the film. But surprisingly, the film was not screened by many theatres of the Chengalpet area.

    The theatres that boycotted the screening of the Atlee directorial won’t be able to screen other big upcoming flicks as well. Tamil Film Producers Council Secretary T Siva said that the theatres of Chengalpet area that did not screen ‘Theri’ will be sidelined by Tamil film producers. He added that Studio Green’s Suriya starrer ‘24’ and ‘S3’ won’t be screened in these theatres.

    Kalaipuli S. Thanu, producer of ‘Theri’, has also bankrolled Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ and hence, the crime drama film also won’t be screened in these theatres. The Tamil Film Producers Council Secretary added that all small and big films won’t be screened in these theatres. However, special arrangements will be made for the fans living in Chengalpet area to watch these films.
