Why Sathyaraj Said No to Vijay 59

Sathyaraj, known for his roles in Baahubali, Mirchi, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Amaidhi Padai, was offered to play the antagonist in Vijay 59 which he refused. The reason behind saying no was Baahubali 2. He has given dates of more than 100 days to director S.S. Rajamouli.

Sathyaraj and Vijay, both are huge fans of each other’s work. The duo previously worked together in Nanban and Thalaivaa. It was rumoured that Sathyaraj turned down the role in Vijay 59 because he did not want to play Vijay’s villain which, as it turns out, is not true.

Vijay 59 is directed by Atlee, who also directed the 2013 film Raja Rani which starred Sathyaraj. It will be released in January next year. On the other hand, shooting for Baahubali 2 will start on September 15. It was due to the clash of dates that Sathyaraj couldn’t be a part of Vijay 59.
