With 50 Days Golden Run, Theri Reaches 140 Crore Mark

Vijay starrer Theri has created another history by completing successful run of 50 days in cinemas. The flick did fantastic business in India and turned out to be the biggest hit in the actor’s career. Theri that was released on April 14, also the Tamil New Year rocked the box offices throughout.

It minted Rs 13.1 crore from 425 screens in Tamil Nadu alone and Rs 28.96 crore from the worldwide collection on the opening day. The flick which is a family entertainer, by the end of weekend garnered Rs 35.32 crore at the box office in Tamil Nadu and Rs 85.36 crore from the worldwide box office in its opening weekend. In the next few days, the collection of ‘Theri’ remained constant that helped the makers cross Rs 100 mark.

Now, the flick has completed 50 days in Tamil Nadu and raked somewhere around Rs. 70 to Rs. 75 crore in the state. The Atlee directorial has collected Rs 10 crore alone from Chennai. With the help from international box office, such as U.S., Canada and Australia, the movie has surpassed Rs 140 crore mark.
