    An all-women crew to make film on sensational Shubha-Girish case


    An all-women technical crew is all set to make a film on the real life story of advocate Shubha, who allegedly killed her fiance Girish on city’s Ring Road in 2003. According to sources, the film has been titledRing Road Shubha. The source added, "The film is just inspired by her life and is not her life story. The murder had triggered a lot of debates and discussions, and that's why we zeroed in on the subject." For the first time in Kannada film industry, an all-women technical team will be making a film.

    “Priya Belliappa, who has written the story, will direct the film. Her all-female team includes Maulshri Singh, who worked as an assistant onDhobi Ghat, as the cinematographer, Sanchari Das Mollick as editor, Rekha Rani as dialogue writer, Apoorva as art director, Charu heading the makeup team and Bharati Chhabria doing the costumes. The film will be produced by Ranjini Ravindra Das, who has co-scripted the film," the source added. The film is expected to go on the floor in December. Shubha, mastermind of Girish’s murder, her boyfriend Arun Verma, his cousin Dinakar and rowdy Venkatesh, were sentenced to life imprisonment in July 2010 in the case. Shubha was also awarded an additional three years for destroying evidence.
