Dasari Narayana Rao Breathes His Last

Veteran film director and former Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao passed away in Hyderabad on May 30. He is survived by two sons - Taraka Prabhu and actor Arun Kumar - and a daughter, Hemalaya Kumari. The renowned auteur had served as a director, actor, lyricist, dialogue writer and producer for the Telugu film industry.

A few weeks ago, on May 4, Rao celebrated his 75th birthday along with his celebrities from the Tollywood fraternity. Famous as Guruvugaru, Rao had been ill for quite some time now. He was first hospitalized on January 29 in a critical condition. But as the director recovered well then, he was discharged on March 28.

According to reports, Rao complained of chest pain five days ago. His condition worsened yesterday and he breathed his last in the evening, at 7 pm. The cremation will be held at the family’s farmhouse in Chevella, near Moindabad, today evening.
