Ganesh Patro dies at 69

Veteran dialogue writer Ganesh Patro passed away in Chennai on Monday. He was diagnosed with cancer and had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the past few days. He was 69.

He debuted as a writer with Telugu drama Athavaarillu in 1976 and in his career spanning nearly five decades, he wrote dialogues for about fifty Telugu films. His famous movies include Maro Charithra, Idi Kadha Kaad and Seetaramayya gaari Manavaraalu.

Ganesh Patro also worked closely with Chiranjeevi for famous Telugu flick Rudraveena. Remembering Patro, Chiranjeevi told says, "It's extremely sad that we've lost another member of our industry to cancer. Ganesh Patro was a prolific writer and his dialogues for my film Rudraveena will stay in my memory forever." Ganesh last worked for Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, which hit screens in 2013.

Unfortunately, Tollywood has been witnessing the death of some of the distinguished personalities in the last few weeks.
