    The social campaign MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination), launched by Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar, has already received huge support from the film fraternity and now its Southern superstar Mahesh Babu’s turn to join the camp.

    Mahesh Babu has extended his hands to support the social cause by reciting the poem MARD and also collaborate with Farhan in the campaign. The drive was initiated after the death of gang rape victim in Delhi and it aims to spread awareness about gender inequality and protests against the women-abuse, going on.

    The poem has been composed by Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar to promote the movement and Mahesh is set to deliver the lines in Telugu to extend its regional reach down South. According to a source, "This poem, which has already been translated in Marathi, Urdu and Bengali will now be translated in Telugu. Mahesh Babu has agreed to record the poem. The recording will be done on Tuesday in Hyderabad. As Farhan wanted to reach out to people in the South also, he felt no one else could make more of an impact than Mahesh."
