Despite criticism from film critics, Ram Charan’s latest offering ‘Bruce Lee’ is doing a decent business at the box office. Though the film failed to perform overseas and managed to collect just $700,000 in the first five days in U.S., but it managed to pull the crowds here and collected Rs. 24.41 crores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after five days. Also, D.V.V Danayya, who bankrolled the venture, is quite satisfied with the film’s performance.

The long festive weekend served as much needed relief to the makers and the team of the flick. Yesterday, the seventh day of the movie after its release, the Sreenu Vaitla directorial collected double the amount it collected on the sixth day. The whole team of ‘Bruce Lee’ should be thankful to the makers of ‘Akhil’, as they pushed back the release of the debut movie of Akhil Akkineni.

‘Akhil’ was slated for an October 22 release, but due to VFX related issues, the release was postponed. This allowed Ram Charan’s film to hold maximum number of screens during the festive season and increase its overall collection. Had ‘Akhil’ been released on the scheduled date, the business of ‘Bruce Lee’ would have suffered for sure.  The film featuring Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead is expected to cross Rs. 40 crores soon.
