Rudhramadevi actor Rana Daggubati has began work on his next project which is titled Ghazi. It will be India’s first submarine based war film. The actor took to twitter and posted, “Pushing my experimental envelope towards mainstream cinema yet again!! #GHAZI (Hindi-Telugu bi-lingual) begins filming today (sic)”.

Ghazi will shine light on the Pakistani submarine named PNS Ghazi that sunk under unknown circumstances during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Rana will be sharing screen space with Baby and Kanchana 2 actress Taapsee Pannu. Speculations about her role suggest that she will be playing a refugee in the film.

The movie will revolve around the Indian submarine S21. The crew on the boat was lead by an executive naval officer, supposedly played by Rana. The team was underwater for 18 days straight. Directed by Sankalp, the movie is inspired from the debutant director’s book Blue Fish. PVP Cinema will produce the film.
