Shriya Sharma To Work In ‘Varma’?

Varma’s production process is currently underway which is also marking the debut of Chiyaan Vikram’s son, Dhruv Vikram. Ace filmmaker Bala is helming this forthcoming film and now rumours are rife that Shriya Sharma has been cast as the leading lady.  But there is no official confirmation regarding her selection yet.

The actress is known for her amazing performance in the romantic-drama ‘Sillunu Oru Kadhal’. Notably, produced by E 4 Entertainment, the film will see Dhruv reprising Vijay Deverakonda’s role. Moreover, the film will have dialogues by National Award-winning director Raju Murugan. Further, the movie is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’, the film is about a medical surgeon (played by Vijay Deverakonda) who falls for his college junior (played by Shalini Pandey). He turns to alcohol post-break-up and his road to redemption forms the crux of the film.

It is said that Bala will reportedly start filming the college portions once the makers finalise the leading lady. Also, an important sequence has recently been shot in Chennai. If things go well, the film is expected to release by the end of this year.
